Central to our first impact campaign, this original, limited edition 6-color screen print honors the life and legacy of the late Maestro Jhonny Javá. This wisdom keeper's lifelong relationship with Kambô (Phyllomedusa bicolor) ran deep. A healer of Kichwa lineage, informed by Matsés' wisdom and his friendship with the late journalist, Peter Gorman, Jhonny served thousands of people in the Peruvian Amazon for nearly 4 decades before his sudden passing in 2024. He held the wisdom of many sacred plants, including Toé (Brugmansia suaveolens) and Mapacho (Nicotiana rustica), while his deep reverence for the Amazon, its medicines, and humanity at large radiated from his heart through a million-dollar smile.

All colors in this design were digitally captured from the Kambô frog! A small Kambô Frog climbs up the right sleeve, and our brand logo is featured on the left sleeve.
With permission from his surviving family, the artist created this portrait to share the legacy of this incredible wisdom keeper with a wider audience. With this design and campaign, we aim to foster networks of support for the continued work at Ecomunidad Nativa Kambô Family, a healing center and nature reserve in the Napo River Valley of Peru. This design marks both a creative milestone and the foundational relationship that set Earth Medicine Apparel Co. in motion, linking our brand origin story, our pilot impact campaign, and our first featured Earth Medicines.
